100 Word Challenge Week #10

November17

Hello and welcome everybody to my latest post and today’s topic is on this week’s 100 WC, which is all about the prompt: …how could something so tiny… I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s release the wordy story!

It’s just amazing how the world is made up of such tiny people. We are so small compared to the huge earth that we live in today. But, unfortunately, there are some even smaller people in the world, which we call midgets. But the good thing is, small people are known to be smarter, while bigger are dumb. And in my timeline, it is true. Once, a small speck had landed on my hand. then, I realized it was a human. How could something so tiny have such great defensive and stealing skills? For I am a Troll. END

NOTE: the words in italics is the actual story

AND

The actual story is exactly 100 words, not 206 words.

So, that’s it for today’s post! Sure will write more in future posts! I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! As I always say: ’till next time! That’s all folks!

Behind the News: Young Author

November16

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post on this week’s BTN in which the topic is about book week in which a young 12-year-old girl named Hannah who created her own book called “I don’t like cheese.” at the age of 12. I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s release the facts!

Hannah, a 12 year old girl has published a book called ” I don’t like cheese”, and it was all motivated by her primary school principle, Mr Holland. He admits that Hannah’s grade 5 teacher told him that Hannah was a brilliant writer. So, Mr Holland suggested Hannah to write the book as an achievement and challenge.

Shortly after handing over the book to Mr Holland, the local media included the story in a newspaper, and she was even selected to go to an interview with kids book review or something.

After selecting the illustrator, Hannah had the opportunity to meet up and discuss important matters(about the book). They had many ideas in which they shared…but the only problem with having an illustrator is that you can’t put the exact image you have in your head into the book. It can be similar but not exact, as no one has the exact same brains and minds.

1 of 2 Understandings I now have include: I think that the publisher was looking for a message in the book that will help children develop a part of their education, which is a main reason why I think the book got accepted.

AND

It must have been a great experience to see a book she wrote herself come to life and read by many people in the world.

Finally, one question  I now have include: How much money was invested behind creating that book(as far as I know, it take at least $40 000 AU).

Here is the link to the BTN site:

The History of MVIMP, Retirment of Dez

November15

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post and today’s topic is all about the history of MVIMP. I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s release the Music(or let’s say unleash)!

MVIMP is an organisation that has been around our school and 3 others for around 34 years(sinscen 1981), and our school was established in 1918. MVIMP stands for Moonee Valley Instrumental Music Program. As I said before, it is run across four different schools, including ours. If I name them specifically, they are; Us, Moonee Ponds Primary School, Moonee Ponds West Primary School, Ascot Vale Primary School and Ascot Vale wst Primary school.

Sadly, the oldest tutor who has serviced our school and Moonee ponds west primary school for 29 YEARS in the woodwind orchestra. is retiring! We are all sad, especially the woodwind orchestra. So, sinsce too many children do MVIMP, ONLY the woodwind orchestra’s from M.P.P.S. and M.P.W.P.S. got to sign a HUGE card and play a special piece JUST FOR HIM! 🙂 The rest of us had the best of wishes for him. 🙂

so, getting back to the point, every year our MVIMP students have been getting better and better( thanks to great tutors like des and les and lex( les, our string tutor, and lex, the band conductor). Oh, and, I almost forgot, one of Dez’s students had come back after he taught her from the age of 7 all the way up to university( I know, Des is about the age of my grand dad except more active, around about 70)! So, she had come back to show her experience that she had gained from him, and is also getting married in early January 2016!

les, my violin teacher is sad that U.S. Grade 6s are leaving in about four weeks just as we where getting good! 🙁 But that’s all right, because all the knowledge i have gained here will help later in high school and life. I might even come back in the future when les retires to show how good I am! Just like that women that came back to show Dez.

you know, our tutors have very similar names. Dez, les, Lex, Simon and a few others. but Dez, les and lex stand out the most. I wonder after Dez goes next year who will replace him and what his name will be. Will it be Ted? Well, whoever it is, I won’t be there to see it!

So, that’s all I have to say for today about this topic! I hope you enjoyed reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! As I always say, ’till next time! that’all folks!

MVIMP Annual Concert 2015

November14

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post and today’s topic is all about how we had the MVIMP CONCERT two nights ago. I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s unleash the disastrous music!

Two nights ago, we had the MVIMP Concert, as you might already know if you read my previous post. We had a great night, with heaps of parents, carers and family there to experience our hard effort.

Us, as the musicians had to arrive at the zone by 6:30(for instrumental tuning), although the actual concert started at 7:30 PM. Now, I did arrive a 10 minutes early, so I got a little freaked out when I saw no-one there. But my mum and I waited a bit until everyone came. My mum headed over to the seating area(the celebrity room), while we went off back-stage to prepare our instruments and sheet music.

Within-in one hour, the concert had started. The Percussion started first, and to be honest, they sounded HORRIBLE at first, but they improved as the concert progressed and eventually, it sounded great!(because they where doing a solo at first). Then I think it moved onto Brass Solo, and they sounded Awesome! Then, we had the Woodwind, and they where doing a great job, doing an extra out of curriculum piece(
i’ll get to the point later). Then, we had our violin solo, and I don’t know how well i did because I can’t judge myself(never judge a book by it’s cover).

We played some jazz and Justin Bieber music for the first time in MVIMP History! We played Autumn leaves(a jazz piece) and Thriller, a Justin Bieber Piece. I can at least guarantee those two pieces where great!

Then we had some more pieces by some other orchestra’s until it was the turn of the combined band(selected students from all four schools{Ascot Vale P.S., Ascot Vale West P.S., Moonee Ponds P.S., Moonee Ponds West P.S.}. Learn more from my previous post). It was also Dez’s last day(our woodwind teacher as he was retiring after 29 years of working at our school. So the woodwind people had to do a special piece for him.

We played quite a few music pieces. As far as I can remember, we played: Skeleton Dance, Rainy Day Rock, Sun-catcher, Mambo Number 5, Spanish Brass, What a Wonderful World, Medievil fayre and shake it off by Taylor swift.

Then, they handed some awards out, followed by some scholarship stuff. That’s pretty much all that happened that night, and sadly, that’s all I have to say for today. Don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! Hope you enjoyed reading! As I always say, ’till next time! That’s all folks!

MVIMP Annual Concert Rehearsals 2015

November11

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post and today’s topic is about the annual end of year concert rehearsals 2015. I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So, what are we waiting for? Let’s release the music!

Tomorrow, there is an upcoming HUGE block-buster event happening called the MVIMP concert! MVIMP is an organisation that I think has been running in our school for 34 years. It’s not only in our school, but in four schools across our district including our school. The school are: Moonee Ponds Primary School(us), Moonee Ponds West Primary School, Ascot Vale Primary School and Ascot Vale West Primary School.

Each school has normal music lessons for all instruments starting from grade 3. On top of that, all the senior students(grade 5+), are allowed to enter the school band, but that’s only if you have played your instrument for two or more years. And Finally, ON TOP OF THAT, we combine selected students from the school band from all four schools and create a mixed band, which we call the Combined band(mostly year 6s), which I am taking part of this year.

So, for our best performance, we have been having HUGE two-hour rehearsals for the past few weeks. Trust me, I play the Violin and this is my fourth year of playing, entering grade two in my violin career, and I play for Combined band(all four schools band), band AND normal lessons. I have said this in the previous paragraph, so I won’t get into it.

We have been rehearsing day after day, with non-stop arms hurting, but luckily, it all will make up to the actual day(tomorrow)! Since I am a Senior violinist, I sometimes had sometimes STAY BACK and do extra stuff. Such as, doing combined band for one hour, then school band for the next hour, then half an hour doing violin solo rehearsals. NOW that’s a TIRING 2 and a half hours!! At least we get to miss some school time in replacement of it, so I think it’s kind of worth it. Anyways, we are PERFORMING TOMORROW! After all, we are getting a brand new experience while they do boring old work everyday(feel sorry for them)!

Unfortunately, I have run out of things to say for today! Don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! Hope you enjoyed reading! As I always say: ’till next time! That’s all folks!

100 Word Challenge week #9

November10

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post and today’s topic is on this weeks 100 WC. The prompt for this week is simply 1 single word: RED. I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and subscribe. So what re we waiting for? Let’s release the words!

I love red. Wherever I go, I see red. Both in happy and sad moments. When I go out for a drive and have to stop on the signal, I see red. When  someone is proposing to someone, I see a red rose. When someone dies, I see red blood. When I eat blood oranges,  I see red skin. When spring comes, red blossoms everywhere. So, for all the people who hate and want to demolish red, fear red and all it’s followers, because red is the new black. You will have trouble trying to offence us without WAR! Fear Red.

NOTE: All the words in Italics is the actual story

AND

The actual story is 100 words, not 182.

Unfortunately that’s all I have to say for today and ’till next time! As I always say, that’s all folks!

Happy HALLOWEEN 2015!

October31

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post which is all about this years Halloween! I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s release the TERROR!

Last Saturday, October 31st, it was Halloween day. we had lots of fun with out friends and family, scaring the hell out of people along with trick or treating. Luckily it was a Saturday, so we didn’t have to go school all day. Anyways, it’s the main fun of it is at night, where everything gets SPOOKY for Halloween! I wore my costume and went trick or treating with some friends wearing our costumes in our neighborhood.

To my surprise, we got a fair amount of lollies each. Now, I said a FAIR AMOUNT, not A LOT. To be honest, we did face a lot of “Tricks” instead of “Treats”, because we where going block to block and not everybody was prepared for the intelligence of the mighty friends while trick or treating(I know, it sounds bad):()

We had a great time altogether. We left at about 7 PM and met up with everyone by around 7:15. Then, by 7:30 PM, we headed of to start trick or treating. I got a fair amount of lollies(as I said before), and in all my friend’s case, they also got the same as me.

WHY? You may ask…

Well, maybe lets say most the people in our area doesn’t really celebrate Halloween. So instead of staying up, they go to bed EARLY! I know because I have self experience, as I too didn’t celebrate Halloween before until this year, so you might as well believe me. 🙂

We went back home at around 9:30 PM with our bags half full. We said our byes and went inside. Now, you may think I went straight to bed. But,according to history, WRONG! First of all I got refreshed, took a shower, played on my I-Pad for a while, watched some TV(on Net-Flix), and finally, at 11 PM I am settling in to write this article. Afterwards, I will brush my teeth, play more on my I-Pad, read for a bit and then go to bed at MIDNIGHT

Now, I said GO TO BED, but it wasn’t until 12:30 AM ’till I finally went to sleep(woke up at 9 AM on the Sunday, I know because I am updating this post now in the morning).

So, what did you do for this Halloween? Write down in the comments section below! If you don’t know how to, then visit my page telling you how to!

Unfortunately, that’s all I have to say for today. Don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! As I always say…’till next time! That’s all folks!

100 WC week #7 2015

October29

Hello and Welcome everyone to my latest post in which the topic is all about this week’s 100 WC. The prompt is called: …She just wouldn’t stop crying… I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s release the words!

It all started from when I was walking down the street. It wasn’t before 7 PM when I spotted a weeping girl sitting on the side of the road. I tried to assure her with comforting words, but she just wouldn’t stop crying! Apparently, she couldn’t speak either. When I asked what happened, she would just keep crying. I offered her a chocolate from my bag. She immediately stopped crying and gobbled it up.

“hmm….delicious.” She said.

“You can talk?” I blurted out, shocked.

“Fake crying.” She said sheepishly.

So…all of that….for nothing? I thought to myself as I walked away.

NOTE: the words in Italics is my actual story.

NOTE #2: My actual story is exactly 1oo words(no need to worry!), not 196.

I hope you enjoyed reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! As I always say: ’till net time and that’s all folks!

5/6 Met Challenge 2015

October28

Hello and welcome everyone to my latest post which is all about this years 5/6 Met Challenge which occurred last week on Friday. I hope you enjoy reading and don’t forget to comment and follow/subscribe! So what are we waiting for? Let’s release the excitement!

Last Friday, all of us went all around the city of Moonee Valley and had to answer a questionnaire in groups of  5,6,7 and 8 all day from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to gain points so the winners could be decided. This process can also be called the Met Challenge in terms of our school.

It all started when our school was still a central school, with grades 7s and 8s. Staff decided to take the Seniors(grade 7s and 8s) on a Met Challenge, which is exactly what I said above, except all around Melbourne. Now, since us grade 5/6s aren’t as old as the 7/8s(although I am at the age of 13), the staff of the school decided to make us do the same thing except in a small area covering 3-4 suburbs near the school.

The ratio for taking children per Adult in Australia is 1:20. So 1 Adult between 20 children. So, at the Met Challenge, there wasn’t enough teachers to takes us as there where too many groups. So, we had to ask our parents to come along, and it was a great result. My mum came too. We had 1-2 Adults per group, and our group had two adults, my mum and Max’s mum, both taking care of us lovely 6 boys(Me,Cian, Max, Luca C, Sammy E and Oden).

I have to say, we where mucking around a bit. Especially Cian and Oden. They even had to write a “sorry” letter to one of the parents!

🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Overall, we had a great day. We went by buses, trains and trams which are the main ways of transport in Melbourne other than cars. That also gave us heaps of points. We found something weird on Mt Alexander Rd, and I dressed up as James Bond and Max dressing up as spongebob and much more. We went to West-field Shopping Centre, in which we waited for about 45 minutes for one bus which went past us 3 TIMES! By then, we had already given up. With two hours to spare, we where only up to our second location, Essen-don Cricket Ground. Our hopes where down by then. Through our whole journey, we made it to two locations.

On our way to the third, we ran out of time. We did go to New Market Plaza for a bathroom break and bought toy guns. Gold and silver. Then we tried to get lost, but had to go back to school. What a FAIL of a day.At least we made it to school on time! Plus, we came third last year, and Cian came first last year. This year, we where last for sure.

Unfortunately, that’s all I have to say for today. I will be writing about more in future! Don’t forget to comment, follow and subscribe! ’till net time!

As I always say: That’s all Folks!

Thanks,
